The shenanigans on Division Street may qualify as wildlife to some, but there’s actually plenty of real-deal flora and fauna within city limits worth exploring, from purple martins and muskrats to beavers and butterflies. Bonus: It’s all free. All you need is a pair of binoculars or a camera, plus a bit of patience.
Formerly a 9-to-5 editor at Where magazine in Chicago, I’ve taken the plunge back to freelance writing and editing. Which means I juggle work with my role as a stay-at-home mom to two little girls. It’s a test of so many things. Right now I’m giving myself a C+ for patience levels, a B for mealtime nutrition (lollipops play a large role in helping with the patience), a B for overall balancing and an A for effort (hey, I shower nearly every day). Naps are a slice of heaven, but so are cuddles and playing tag at the park. I work whenever I can and can write about anything, but most enjoy writing about topics I care about—like parenting, women’s health, Chicago travel, and environmentally friendly products and businesses.
